A Trusted Distributor and Installer of Cogen Units in Southern Alberta

Households and businesses today prefer environmentally-friendly and affordable ways over conventional energy sources to fulfil their energy needs. Cogen units, also known as cogeneration, is a relatively new system that is gaining popularity in the Canadian market after impacting the North American market. CL Plumbing & Heating is a trusted distributor and installer of Cogen units in Lethbridge and surrounding areas - all of Southern Alberta.

Cogen units can concurrently produce electricity and useful thermal energy from the same energy source. They are more reliable across all seasons for delivering consistent energy output, contrary to solar power systems that depend on sunshine and other systems that work on wind energy. Unlock the advantages of a Cogen unit for your home or business - book an at-home consultation today.

How It Works

CL Plumbing & Heating sells, installs, and services Cogen units in Southern Alberta and has recently installed Cogen units in a farming facility. We also have distributor rights in all of Western Canada.

Cogen units use a natural gas-fueled engine to produce electric power at first and then heat. The electricity generated on-site is directly used to power your property, lowering grid electricity withdrawals and your monthly electricity cost.

At the same time, a Cogen unit collects the residual, free “waste” heat from its jacket, engine oil, and exhaust heat. The captured heat replaces the costly fuel burned to power your on-site heaters and boilers, making them work less to meet your heating needs, e.g., space heating and hot water supply. As a result, your gas bill also plummets.

What makes the new-gen Cogen units stand out is that they:

  • Generate power on the site where it’s needed

  • Reduce utility costs

  • Support grid reliability

  • Offer environmental benefits
