How It Works

Cogen units use a natural gas-fueled engine to produce electric power at first and then heat. The electricity generated on-site is directly used to power your property, lowering grid electricity withdrawals and your monthly electricity cost.

At the same time, a Cogen unit collects the residual, free “waste” heat from its jacket, engine oil, and exhaust heat. The captured heat replaces the costly fuel burned to power your on-site heaters and boilers, making them work less to meet your heating needs, e.g., space heating and hot water supply. As a result, your gas bill also plummets.
